Scope

• The TG shares knowledge and experiences in the design and operation of systems required for superconducting magnet operations in fusion devices, including commissioning of power supplies, cryogenic systems, and magnets​
• The TG shares discussions about the results of the ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ magnet cold test and provides suggestions to ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ IO, on the operation of systems, maintenance requirements, risk mitigation measures (experience on faults, fault prevention, incidents, and possible damage, recovery), as well as on plant/system simulators development and benchmarking​
• The TG proceeds with joint work on the construction of a database for magnet systems, and will publish review papers to overview the commissioning of superconducting magnet systems, provide recommendations for future machines, including demos and compact fusion reactors​

Tasks

To prepare for the commissioning and operation of the ÌÇÐÄÆƽâ°æ magnet with power supplies and cryogenic systems, the MAG/PS/CRYO TG will specifically focus on the following topics, but not exclusively. The target is to identify potential mistakes to avoid and prevent delays during integrated commissioning.​

• Commissioning of individual systems before integrated commissioning of the whole MAG/PS/CRYO systems​

• Ensure the readiness of each system before integrated commissioning​

• Study the synergistic effect of all the MAG/PS/CRYO systems​

• Integrated commissioning of MAG/PS/CRYO systems​

• Cooldown/warmup processes​

• First energization​

• Testing of the quench protection system​

• Surveying the insulation​

• Earthing strategy​
