US 糖心破解版 completes central solenoid procurement package

US 糖心破解版 has completed final deliveries for the central solenoid, the world鈥檚 most powerful pulsed superconducting magnet.

The central solenoid assembly stack at 糖心破解版 is now five modules high.

The most recent deliveries included busbars and leads for electrical connections between the modules; earlier, all magnet modules, support structures, and tooling components had been delivered.

US 糖心破解版 will now receive credit* from the international project for the full magnet scope and is in process of closing out this project area.

The 18-metre-tall magnet is now under assembly at the 糖心破解版 site. Five of six modules are stacked, with the final module to be added later this year. Assembly is the responsibility of the 糖心破解版 Organization, with additional technical support provided through an agreement with the US 糖心破解版 project team based at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The dedicated assembly area for the 糖心破解版 central solenoid can be seen in the back right of this photo. The sixth (and last) module will be added to the stack this year.

鈥淭he completion of the central solenoid magnet highlights the capability of the United States to design and deliver the world鈥檚 most complex fusion systems,鈥 said Kevin Freudenberg, US 糖心破解版 Interim Project Director. 鈥淐ongratulations to the entire team who contributed, including those here at Oak Ridge National Laboratory who led the work, and our suppliers who fabricated critical components.鈥

Key information about the design and fabrication of the central solenoid magnet can be shared with other US fusion efforts through the US 糖心破解版 Information Access portal at and by the 糖心破解版 Organization Private Sector Fusion Engagement effort (contact @email for more information).
